Yep, it was me Carolyn who posted that my Alionushka is a semiclinger and grows up through and clings onto a japanese maple.

Can't tell you about Hendryetta though. I have it-got it last spring from Plant Delights I believe so last year was its root development year. It is a relatively new cultivar that to my knowledge just became available to the trade here in the US. It is up and growing now along with Rose Colored Glasses integrifolia and Jan Fopma. All three are planted in front of a copper trellis about 10 feet long along with another 10 or so clematis. I am going to use them as sprawlers along the front of the trellis and if they get long enough may see if they want to cling if there is room.

Yours is ahead of mine as I haven't received my order from Brushwood yet. Perhaps you can give me a heads up when Hendryetta makes up her mind (I know how women are....;)). I think I will plant her at the base of the fringe tree and that way she can either sprawl or climb the fringe tree if she has a mind to!

This indegrifolia is a non climber. Mine bloomed like crazy last year. My zone 5 plant is 3 feet tall so far this year, loves all the rain. You will enjoy it's nodding flowers.
