Quick question with regards to my potted clematis montana...

I have a city house with a yard and potted a clematis montana in it last year early summer. The clematis grew quite well last year and flowered.

So far this year it has grown a foot or so, but is already flowering. As I am hoping to sell my house this year I rather hoped that it would grow a lot more and cover the wall it is on more.... will it continue to grow after flowering this year? or does it flowering mean that it will not do much more growing this year?

Is there anything I can do to encourage faster growth?
