I have just purchased Clematis Jackmanii and Dr. Rumppel and they are in quart sized pots, with about 2' of growth (Dr. Rumppel is blooming). They seem healthy, though I haven't checked the roots system yet. They've been on my back patio for a week (receiving morning sun til noonish daily).

I'm just not sure where to plant them in the garden (zone 8b) and I'm afraid I'll put them in the wrong place. My front garden faces south and I have a large bed on both the east and west sides of my house - I think the west would be too hot -- it's a rough place full afternoon sun - daylilies and rosemary love it, but that's about all. The east bed get sun until about 1:00pm or so -- give or take a half hour. Any where it goes, I would have to construct something for them to climb on.

Any ideas on what would work best, esp. if you live in zone 8b (gulf coast).
