I would cut it back again and make sure it is well watered.

I moved my roguuchi (how is that spelled? LOL) during hot weather last year. It wasn't happy, but I kept it well-watered and it eventually recovered. Looking good this spring, but not nearly as thick as before. Evidently a number of the roots did not survive the move--which is fine with me since it was getting much to thick (lots of stems) before.

My guess is that if you dug deep enough to get sufficient roots without too much damage to the roots, it will survive, but I'd make sure it doesn't dry out for the next few weeks at least.

I'm almost sure I pruned it back to about a foot tall (at most) since I wanted it to concentrate on growing those roots, not growing the rest of the plant.
