Sue, I'm not sure but I don't think it's viticella. We'll have to ask Dan. He posted a photo on Brushwoods facebook page. I sent you a fan suggestion (if you aren't already) which should take you straight there. Pretty lavender with wavy petals!

It's a beautiful clematis.

It sounds like it's a group 2. Dan is not sure of the zones, so next year when it becomes available, I will buy one and report on my success. I think that is only fitting since I always had to nudge Miguel when he'd forget about the cold growing zones.

I would like to know the parentage though.

I became a fan and posted about it last night. Too bad that a bunch of people who did not know Miguel posted a bunch of questions not related to it when Dan announced it. I felt they were disrespectful but didn't want to chew them out in print.....
