Potted Clematis

I just got my order from Koi Garden. They are barely sprouting out. However, it is already hot hear and we will be in mid 80's to 90's in the next few days. Is it Ok that after re-potting them from their 2.5 " to a gallon size pot put them in shade? The thinking behind that it, they stay moist and cool over the summer. Then, I will plant them in their permanent position in fall.

That is what I do when I receive clematis and it is too hot to plant them. I put mine in filtered shade instead of complete shade and they do very well. Usually by fall they have developed a great root system and have put on a lot of growth.
