Companion Plants

Liatris, Grape Hyancith and Nodding Onion

I saw a "bargain bag" of Liatris at Lowes.

I'm thinking of planting them under/along some Yews that are dying back because of old age and snow plow injuries. They would have to share space with some Grape Hyacinth, Nodding Onion, and the Yews. Also a couple Aster and Echinacea (if they survived). Would this combination work? What happens when they spread?

I've not had luck with liatris here. All the pictures and comments from others never portrayed them as an aggressive plant. I like the combo with Echinacea. And they'd be pretty with fall asters too. IMO.

Oh, here is the result. Pretty, but slightly cluttered looking. I got carried away. I'm concerned the Magnus Echinacea will overwhelm the other plants.
