ID red clematis

I was given a portion of this vine. I believe it is clematis but what kind. I also have a blue one from the same source but I think it is rhapsody. I will post the blue one in a reply since I can't figure out how to post more than one pic per message.

this one is more blue than this pic shows. In this pic it seems purple.

They are both Clematis. No doubt there.

There are multiples of similar color so it will be hard to pin down an exact name.

The first one could be Barbara Harrington though it is early for it to be blooming

Can you give a general location or list several other things that are blooming at the same time? My guess is that they are both type 2 clematis, but I don't have any clematis blooming yet.

Rhapsody is a deeper purply blue that your photo shows. The photo is about the same color as my HF Young, but there are many clematis that are a light lavender-blue at this time of year.

Where is our clematis expert..Jeanne-Tx. Haven't seen her post in a long time. She made her own bubbler machine to propgate plants and I've been searching for that posting and photos she had on it.
