Buford...what me and my husband did was went to Lowe's and bought some of the 5 ft wire fencing..they are in a roll..he used the wire cutters and cut it to the height and width of my brick columns..then he took his drill and drilled holes into the brick..then he hammered in a plastic anchor..then he screwed in a cup hook and turned it to secure the wire...there you go!!..Jeanne

Thanks! How about the white trellis on the wooden poles? Did you just cut it in strips and nail it to the post? I think I'm going to use the fence on the front of my house, but I like the white trellis look on the posts.

One thing that needs to be pointed out is that you have to purchase a drill bit that is suited to masonry. Ordinary drill bits will not drill into brick or mortar--you will just dull them down. In addition to plastic, there are lead or lead like anchors that are sold that can be pounded into the drilled holes. As you screw the screw into the anchors, they spread apart much like regular drywall anchors, thereby securing the anchor into the brick or mortar.
You can also use screws with eyes and run wire through the eyes to create a trellis that will be limited in design only by your imagination and the number of screws you want to drill into the wall.

Hi Buford, If you go to Lee Valley tools website (leevalley.com)i think,there is a wall trellis kit that is good for any surface. I have put one up on my chimney and it is great, I currently have Henri, and tie dye growing up about 12ft.It is very easy to install.You use small buttonlike anchors with loops, which are attached to surface with silicone glue.(i also painted the anchors the color of the brick). Appears to be that white vinyl trellis that was cut to size and most probably screwed into the post or scored at intervals so that it could be bent to fit around the post in one piece and then attached with screws. Jeanne can expound on it when she sees the post.

Miguel is correct..I bought those 5 X 8 foot panels of white vinyl/resin lattice at Lowe's and covered the inside of all my fence and when we built the pergola..we cut them and screwed them onto all 4 sides of the 4 Posts to cover ..we later added two more posts in the center for more strength and those I wrapped around with the wire fencing....Jeanne

Thanks. Both ideas are great. I saw rolls of plastic netting/fencing in HD that I am going to use in some spots, but I liked the contrast of the white over the wooden post.
