Thinking of planting a clematis at the base of my rose Mister Lincoln. ML has no foliage at all on the lower half of it and looks really naked. I am not an experienced clematis grower but bought several from the Koi Garden sale last year. So I have a lot to learn yet.

I am interested in the clematis Piilu as from what I've read it is both short of stature and very lovely. Do you folks think it would do well growing into a rose (currently about 4.5 feet tall). If so would you mind recommending a vendor?
