I have a newly planted clematis that took a direct hit from a severe hailstorm. I got it from Silver Star Vinery. The top was so short when it came, I felt I couldn't plant it too deep or I couldn't even see it. Debbie said to go ahead and plant it deep and fill it in as it grew. It was growing nicely when this monster storm hit. No only did it take a direct hit, the hole filled up with hailstones. The stems are all cracked off, and the leaves are frozen. Is there any hope or should I dig it up and replace it now?I had only begun to fill in some soil around it.
