I love Joy Creek! I bought Sweet Autumn clematis, Etoile Violette and Huldine there. Best growers I have! Big plants with great rootsystems from there!

Last year I ordered Joy Creek. I emailed this spring asking about their replacement policy because my John Warren showed no signs of life after the vines died off a few weeks after I planted it. They did not even respond to my email. I ended up digging up John Warren and the roots were healthy and within a few weeks it had healthy foliage. I went ahead bought 4 more clematis from them this spring and two of them died off within a few weeks. The two clems are: Markham's Pink and Louise Rowe. I think I will try to contact them about this last order.

I have read many great things about their mail order division which always has me shaking my head because they were so rude to me in person at their retail nursery that I actually cried in my car on the way home. That was on my second visit after I drove 45 minutes the first visit to get a Clematis I confirmed by telephone that was in stock and it wasn't when I got there....I am truly glad that most who buy from them online are happy. They do carry a ton of Clematis varieties but I'm never buying from them again.

It's difficult to believe anyone at Joy Creek was rude to a customer.

Further, when a clem dies shortly after planting, it's typically because the stem broke while removing from the pot and setting into the ground.

That happened w/my most recent clem from Joy Creek. It's now 3 weeks later and I have 4 inches of healthy growth.

As long as the roots and crown are intact, it *will* grow again.
