Donna, no way to tell if they are clematis or not without seeing pictures. I personally would recommend leaving them where they are for this growing season and seeing if indeed they are clematis and what the flowers look like colorwise. Late this summer or early fall, whenever the night time temps start falling and the evenings are cool again would be a great time to move them and then at least, you would have a better idea of what colors the flowers will be and how you might want to combine them.

Training clematis onto trellises is really a no brainer since most naturally grab onto whatever their vines encounter. Put whatever trellis you want nearby and they will climb it.

To train into a tree or something similar you can use a pole or stick, depending on the height of the tree, inserted into the ground near the clematis and lean it into the tree's branches or canopy. The clematis will do the rest.

There are some clematis that do well in partial shade and the hotter the area you live in, the more the clematis will enjoy partial shade in the late afternoon. Once again, waiting until this fall to transplant will most probably allow you to see which clematis you have and how much shade they might need.
