Ville de Lyon wilts under sun

Hi,

I planted a Ville de Lyon 4 years ago in a part shade spot. Well it was miserable and had four measly flowers if I were lucky. So this April, I transplanted it, to a sunny spot, where it receives the midday and afternoon sun.

It's roots are covered with 10 " of mulch. And it receives adequate water.

I've noticed from the moment the noon sun reaches the clematis, it wilts.

The moment the sun is gone, it's bounces back.

Is this normal?

Any insight will be appreciated.
