I haven't had much luck with that one, but I wouldn't give up on it yet - I always wait at least a year or two before digging one up because I've had them come back unexpectedly so often. I've never known a type of plant that "resurrects" like clematis does.

It's been a tough winter for my Crystal Fountain. Just a few branches survived, though the previous two summers it was a tangled mess of a blooming machine. I agree, give it time. If you planted it pretty deep, it might send shoots from buds underground. Good luck.

You don't say what zone you're in but I have clems planted last year that are just barely there and others 2-3' high. This cold weather is messing with the growth rate. My CF was a slow starter the first couple years but growing & blooming great now.

Thanks - we put it back in and will hope for the best. I'm in Zone 5, most of my others are already getting ready to bloom, let alone leaf out. I bought another one today that will share the trellis, so if it doesn't get back I won't have a bare spot :)
