Companion for Cardinal Wyszinkski?

I'm looking for ideas of companions for Cardinal Wyszinki. I have a new trellis and planted CW on one side and would like to plant something else on the other so they can grow together. I am thinking it should be another Type 3 so pruning isn't an issue.

Why not consider a white for a wonderful Contrast?..If so, Clematis "Huldine" would fit the bill...Jeanne

I agree with Jeanne, when I read the title of this post I immediately thought "wouldn't that be lovely with a white clematis". Huldine would be a really nice choice.

That's so funny, that was my first impulse too. My only concern was that Huldine would be too vigorous for the trellis, which is probably only 7' tall. I have been wanting Huldine for ages though so that's what I will probably do. It's nice to have the reinforcement!

I have Odoriba next to mine, but have yet to see them flower together so that could change.
