In a word, yes. I think of Rhapsody as a type III clematis, but you can treat it as a type II to get earlier blooms. It is also listed that way on Chalk Hill Clematis, it is listed as a hard prune or optional prune (ie type II) on the ACS, Joy Creek says you can hard prune it or just prune 1/3 or so stems back so you get earlier blooms on old wood and later blooms on new wood.

Most type II clematis, as has been stated innumerable times on this forum, can be treated as type III clematis in most zones except for those people growing them in zones with very short growing seasons. Treating a clematis as a type III will generally just push the time of bloom back further into the summer.
