Root - That actually made my mouth water!!! What is that beautiful purple flower? Does it really have variegated leaves? I love it!!

    Those are beautiful! Smiles here!

Here's a link to my album. Wish my garden still looked like this! I keep watching my ginger and swamp sunflower for blooms. My colcasia fontanesii has a big bud. I do have swallowtail caterpillars on my bronze fennel now!

Magick, It's a morning glory I'm not sure if it's Rose Silk or CHOCOLATE picotee. Yes, the leaves are variegated. I'm hoping I can collect seeds off it this fall for next spring. All the plants I've grown and I've never grown a morning glory (well except the moon flower) before this. I love it! The color is more of a dark mauve than purple.

Cameron your home and gardens are just incredible. I always enjoy your pics. I love the falls and bridge, the morning light and the 'fawn on the lawn' is just so sweet!

Here's the tropical hib/Haight Asbury I keep raving about. It just keeps getting prettier and prettier. Nothing subtle about those colors. I just need to figure out how to over winter it....

This is a white 4 o'clock that I got from either John or Ralph. The flower is shaped different and the plant is huge...

I think this is Fred Howard/Americrinum...

I don't know if I'll ever grow another of the tall zinnia's this pink one is a dwarf and has blooomed up a storm. It's planted here with the lime 4 o'clock and perennial ageratum.

Tara/ginger has just always bloomed before any of the others. A lot of those other plants are in a north side bed that usually stays pretty moist and with deep waterings they're doing OK. I have a lot of ferns in that bed too and I can water it really well once a week and it's happy. The one on the side with the EE's and crinums is where my hose spigot is and when I water anything else it gets a spray from a drippy connection. A lot of my pots (which I mulch)are not in full sun which helps and more are being moved. Another bed has a soaker hose and some of my larger things get a bucket with a drip hole in the bottom. The others I just bite the bullet and water. Aside from containers most of the beds are surviving with a 1 to 2 times a week deep watering with a sprinkler set real low, so it soaks in instead of just running off. Yeah it runs my water bill up but no where near what it would cost me to start replacing some of the plants/shrubs/baby trees. My grass on the other hand is brown and crunchy, and that doesn't bother me in the least. :D

I love that hibiscus! I've never seen that color before.

The contrast of the dark green with the crinum is something else! What soothing, cool colors for a hot summer.
