Mine is in full sun in zone 7a NC and it does just fine. Being further north, I am sure yours would do well there also.

Just realized you said multi blue and not blue light. My blue light is in full sun. Don't have multi blue. It should perform similarly well for you however. The further north you go, the lower the angle of the sun and the less intense it is. That is why so many type IIs brown out in the heat of the sun further south and don't further north.

No problem on the brain toot. =P I appreciate your help. =) I was thinking of planting MB with Julia Correvon. Do you know how far apart I should dig the holes? I can do 18" apart with no problem. If they need to be further, I'll move some other stuff around. Thanks!

MH - Multiblue isn't going to bloom at the same time as Julia Correvon. MB might have sporadic blooms throughout the summer, but not enough to get excited about.

Dang. I just planted them tonight. Oh well. Thank you for the info, Janet. It's better to know ahead of time than to be disappointed later. =)

They are also of differing pruning groups if that matters to you.

I'm going to treat the 2 as a 3 anyway, so they'll probably either bloom close to the same time or extend the bloom period. Thanks!

Let me know how that goes. Some (many?) clematis perform so differently from garden to garden that I be curious to see if it works. My Multi Blue shoots up and blooms in late May early June regardless of how much I pruned it. I prune MB in varying heights, to the ground, and 6, 12 and 18 inches. All shoots bloom about the same time.

That's interesting Janet. That will probably happen here, too. That'll be OK though. It'll be fun seeing what the plants like to do on their own even though I'm not expecting much this year since they're so new.
