I bought Multi-blue a month ago and planted it in the spot where I intend to grow it. Well she grew and bloomed, which seems early being that were in Michigan. Should I take these vines back down to their first nodes?

So far it hasn't been to warm here, as a matter of fact we were under a freeze advisory last night. Some of my plants were hit and others were not. Then, I am wondering if I actually cut it back would I have enought time to get a second set of blooms being that here in Michigan we have such strange summers now. by this I mean summer could end as early as Aug, or last thru sept. But it is a new plant this year and I do want to develop a good root system for next year. What are your suggestions?
