Thanks for the comment Jeanne. This is his second year and I plan to hard prune my Jack after his bloom flush and hope for maybe another flush of blooms later in the season. Do you think thats wise or should I let him go?
Right now he's in a very large pot put I plan to transplant him in the fall to an area I'm planning and designing now. I will probably move the pot when I prune him after this flush due to the extreme heat that my front porch receives in July. Sandy

Sandy..The reason I asked is because I only saw blooms at the top of him..he is a pruning group 3 and blooms on the new vines produced during the growing season..Hardpruning each late winter/early Spring will give you blooms from the bottom up...Jeanne

I pruned him in early spring,I quess around middle of March here and yes your right he only has blooms at the top this year. I'm hoping once he's in the ground he'll bloom from the ground up. I think i'm in zone 6b, just 30 minutes from Nashville.

hmmm..I always get blooms at the bottom from hardpruning...Jeanne
