My Cezanne (also one of Evison patio collection) bloomed the first year for me, and has bloomed like crazy ever since. I plant all my container clematis in 18x18 square pots, minimum.

I too was at Lowes the other day looking at the Evison patio selection that they had. I had wanted to pick up a Bourbon, but they looked just terrible. All of them were 85% crispy leaves, all in 1.6 Gal pots. The smaller 1 Gal pots all looked very good, but the larger potted ones looked pretty pathetic. They only had Bourbons in the larger pots, and they all looked terrible, so I passed. Hopefully I'll find a Bourbon that is healthier than those pretty soon.

Where in Michigan are you? Upper, middle, lower? I am curious as to how our April freeze affected your plants. The plants at my Lowes were all in the 1.6gal pots as well. In my opinion, the ones on the distressed rack weren't much better than the ones on the full price table! If only we weren't renting...I would buy them all as they clearanced out. Thanks for the pot size, I will have to get another pot sometime this week for the Picardy.

I have seen the pictures you posted of your Cezanne....very impressive! I'm hoping that mine reaches a decent blooming level this year! For me, that means more than 1 or 2 blooms, since out of the clems I currently own, and my mom's that I help her with, I have only ever seen 2!!!!
