I'm looking for a clematis to go between Betty Corning and Barbara Harrington. Is BH too reddish for Multiblue?

I can place MultiBlue in another area on a seperate west facing trellis. Would like to pair it with another clematis that will bring out the center color of MB.

Any suggestions?

I grow all three.

Betty Corning is a monster grower. She swamps a trellis 9' tall and wide for me. She swamps the two on either side of her. I cut her back all season long after hard pruning to ground in winter.

The color of all three look nice together but MultiBlue is a much less vigorous grower. Betty will eat Blue for lunch.

Barbara Harrington isn't that vigorous for me either but more so than Multiblue which is also a type II not a III like the other two.

Thanks for your comments. When I took multi-blue from the pot I found a rotted crown and broken roots so the question is mute.

I will consider leaving Betty Corning to fill the spot by itself.
