Bonus Plant!

Hello All, From my Chalk Hill purchase last year, I noticed 2 different plants in the same pot. I've figured out that it is "Red Beetroot Beauty"(Alpina). This is very exciting, as I have never had a grp 1 Clematis.

I would apprecciate some advice on where to plant. Or what to pair it with. its really a neat bloom! Thanks

Jeanne, I'm in Kansas City 5b. Is this a climber or a rambler? I really have no clue how to plant it. Any ideas?
