Look forward to seeing the pictures Gardengal. Any clematis that can survive in such a small container and still provide fantastic blooms sounds like a winner to me!

I need a rather short but vigorous blooming clematis for a new design I just finished today...Will check it out on COTW..thanks for sharing the info..I like that!!...Jeanne

Thanks for the update. I have been wondering how other patio clematis are doing. I bought 2 patio clems last year, Versailles and Angelique. Versailles was full of buds this spring and then got wilt and most of the plant died back. It is now starting to regrow. Angelique had a small amount of wilt this spring. It has recovered quicker and has about 3 blooms now. I am glad to hear yours is so healthy. It doesn't sound like yours has had wilt. I just don't understand why anyone would use plants that are prone to wilt in a breeding program to produce new clems. I was rather dissapointed. I am so glad to hear Picardy is a winner. Keep us posted as to how it grows and blooms this year. Karen

Hi, I'm new to the clem forum but just wanted to say I have Angelique, Bourbon and Versailles. I rescued them from Lowes and at a steal. They were on their discount rack, largely due to lack of water. I don't think I paid more than $5 for any of them. I brought them home, cleaned them up and have watered them well ever since. That was back in March. They are all doing great, even in the heat wave we are having. I did move them to the shade yesterday since the weather guessers are saying the heat will be with us for a few more days.

I'm going to repot them soon to larger containers. They are loaded with blooms again and one is flowering. I will report back on their progress and hopefully have pics, too.

I'm glad yours are doing so well.

I've been to two different Lowes a total of about six times and no Patio Clems! Dang it.

Our Lowes is still charging full price for patio clematis even though most of them haven't been watered properly. Interesting to note, they were still blooming.

Now that I think about it, I should have questioned the manager about charging $24 for a few dried up sticks. lol

Still no Patio clematis here--just the same old type IIs you can purchase anywhere.
