Climador and its pink version often go by the name of Konigskind and Rosa Konigskind. There is a listing for it on COTW which I am linking below. If you got it at Lowes, it could very well be a mislabeled clematis. Been there, done that too many times!

Light "pink" clematis are really mauve, lavender or lilac. Color varies according to climate and situation too.

Of course, it could be mislabeled too.

I do not think it is mislabeled, it looks exactly like on the pictures I found in the web.

On the COTW picture you mentioned it is slightly more pink than lilac, but not pure pink either. Probably, color just varies with the growing conditions. It is a lovely plant and supposed to bloom on both old and new wood, so I am glad I bought it!
You are so right about mislabeled plants from big garden centers! I always try to buy Clematis plants in bloom now to avoid this. I was happy to see new varieties at Lowe's: 'Pink Climador', 'Piilu' and 'Arabella'. All of them were blooming, so it was easy to choose.

Nothing close to that exotic of ones at my Lowes. Just the typical LFHs.

I was also surpised seeing them at Lowe's. Healthy blooming plants in 3/4G pots at $10. I check 3 different Lowe's stores from time to time, only one had these 3 varieties so far.

I recently received a Pink Konigskind from Joy Creek in full bloom...blue bloom, that is, just like my regular Konigskind.
They explained in an email that it can revert, as it is believed to be a sport of the original.

Thank you, Michael, I think this is the answer. It probably reverted. My Climador has also dark purple stripes on some petals, so this hybrid (strain?) is not stable. I do not have regular Konigskind, so I can live with that, but it must be dissapointing to get Pink version which is actually blue...

Alina, here's a few pictures of my Konigskind which I have had for four years. Mine dies back most winters to the ground and comes up fresh in the sprin. This year after it finished blooming it wilted completely so I cut it off at the base and I am awaiting its return.

Alina, flower color can be very much affected by the intensity of the sun. My plant is located on the north side of the house so is somewhat protected from intense sun. Dan Long at Brushwood Nursery is currently using a picture of my plant on his website.

Miguel, this is intriguing: your Konigskind dies to the ground each year? I know you're more than a zone warmer than me, and mine does not die back that much. Maybe it's the north side of the house issue? Well, no real concerns, yours is a beauty and cute in its little (rabbit-proofed?) obelisk.

I probably won't remember to check, but let us know somewhere (here or at Dan's forum) if your Konigskind comes back and reblooms this year. I'd love to get double duty out of this one. Actually, if you think of it, email me when/if you remember.

Michael, the plant seems to not want to survive with stems above ground every year since I have planted it. It is on the north side of the house but I am not sure what is the matter with it. This is the first year however that it has wilted completely and I have had to cut it all the way to the soil line. Hopefully it will return and I will try and remember to contact you. Yes, the black mesh is to keep those darn wascally wabbits away from the plant.

Ah, wabbits, I hope I don't have to worry about them as I have 10 cats! And so far the squirrels have left my bird feeder alone. I am concerned about the deer deciding to come out of the woods to munch on my plants. That is a gorgeous clem, ncville. Mine are not doing much. The ones I cut back are sprouting new leaves. I have one w/ one bloom on it and while I thought it was a Niobe, it only has 4 petals... hmmm. The weather has been very nice here the last few days- cooler and we actually got some rain today though not nearly enough. Brandy
