Epsom Salts

I was recently told that to get great roots and strong vines on my Clematis I should water with a tablespoon of epsom salts to one gallon of water. Anyone aware of the results of this or are using it? I use it on my Hibiscus, and Plumeria but....Doubtful in Texas....

Epsom salts provide Magnesium. IF your soil is deficient in this mineral and you see chlorosis on leaves then using them can be beneficial. If you never see chlorosis then you are likely wasting your time.

Chlorosis is also often caused by iron deficiency.
