Looking good BorS. Wait a while until the copper starts developing its patina. It will look even better. Mine has bits and pieces on it where the color is developing.

How did you secure it in the ground and how is it secured at the top? Mine is attached to the wooden pergola and I used a metal bending device a friend had to shape it without getting kinks in it!

Cool idea BorS! Not sure if I could get away with it here....scrappers are stealing anything copper they can put their hands on :( They're even stripping the wire out of farmer's irrigation systems.

I got the idea from Miguel.

DH stuck it straight into the ground about a foot and I think I'll have him reinforce with some rebar. At the top it is wrapped around a branch of the tree.

This copper had been outside already and it has changed color and isn't bright and shiny. I'm hoping no one will see it. Copper is fetching high prices for scrap here too. Someone stole a huge pile of it from our backyard a couple years ago. DH is a furnace/air conditioner installer and gets scrap copper every day. It is now kept at his locked work yard not here.

Thanks for the info BorS. I had been worried about my copper tubing as well as the copper trellises. Thieves could steal the three trellises but would have to cut them off at ground level since they are cemented in place.
