Hello everybody, I have a gorgeous Nelly Moser that is about 5 years old or more. It gets lots of blooms and everybody admires it. My problem is that it is SO bushy and wide, the vines become a tangle by the end of the summer. Ok they are a tangle already and it's just June. I usually cut it down after all the blooming is done in winter, but I'm sure I could be doing a better job of taking care of it. Could you give me some suggestions or point me to a clearly written website that explains clematis (Clematis for Dummies, perhaps?), pruning and training etc? I will post a photo later. The photos I see of other clematis seem to show them thinner at the bottom and fuller at the top. Is that from pruning? or is that the way they are SUPPOSED to grow, as opposed to mine which looks like a fat little bush?
