Don't allow yourself to buy anything until everything you already have is planted. Don't even go look. However, I would have bought Harlow Carr too. I love it. Mine is growing straight up a trellis and it even grabbed on in a few places. Everyone should have at least one.

Been there, done that. I just have to stay away from nurseries. I have to use will power. Every week-end I want to go and just look but I keep reminding myself of my huge pot ghetto. So far I have been successful. I haven't purchased any new clematis. I didn't even order any from Chalk Hill(although if Omorshiro hadn't been sold out I probably would have caved). I have so many clematis in pots, seedlings everywhere, and I have more species clematis seed I am trying to sprout. My yard looks like a jungle. Some of my vines have gotten so huge they need to be moved, but I don't really have room to move them anywhere. I really need to start evaluating them and get rid of the duds(which are few), ones that are similar in size and color and fine tune them so I can fit every thing in and get rid of my pot ghetto. Then maybe I can reward myself and buy Omorshiro. By then they will probably be selling them at the grocery store for $5.99. Karen

I had bought a bunch of daffodils and potted them up so I could plant in spring when blooming because I have so many already I need to know where they are. Our spring was so awful I didn't get half of them planted.....

I think you should get rid of some of your collection so that you don't feel badly buying new stuff. And, of course, give the stuff you don't want anymore to me. :0P

I think this is a normal habit for Clematis addicts...I have some in pots and 12 on the way from Chalkhill and I have no idea where I am putting all of these...I think I must stop after this?..duhhhhh....Jeanne

BorS.....was the pot terra cotta colored and about the height of a gallon but narrower? And did it have a teardrop shaped color tag? If so, that is one of "my" clematis in a new, 2 liter container size :-) We are the primary vine supplier to the Fred Meyer stores and sell thousands of assorted clematis to them. These are the same age clems at the same stage of development that you are getting in a gallon sized pot, just in a more compact form and generally at a better price point (the 2 liter sizes are saved for our chain accounts, not retail garden centers).

Sorry, Jeanne.......we only sell locally (relatively speaking). But if you do purchase by mail order, we do sell to some of those so you might be winding up with one of "my" clems afterall :-))

Gardengal48, YES! :) It is a very nice plant and the price was incredible. I plan to visit Fred Meyer again today as there are some things in today's ad we need.

I just went and looked at the tag. The Clematis is in a 2 liter pot and grown in the Seattle are of WA but the tag isn't tear drop shaped. Nice big color tag.

Not naming the exact nursery in case you wish to keep that private.
