All of my clematis are on my little balcony, along with various other plants. I received notice on Monday that my building was getting painted and that my balcony would need to be cleared off by Wednesday morning. I spent all of Monday and Tuesday night carefully unwinding stems from balcony railings, then moving everything into my living and dining rooms.

Most of my clems are young type IIIs and didn't have so much growth that it was all that difficult, but I definitely lost a few stems to breakage. Most of the buds are okay, though.

My two Asao just finished blooming, so chopping them down enough to get them off the arch didn't break my heart too, too much.

My living room now is quite jungle like, with barely enough room to move around.

My flower boxes are all on my dining room table.

I'm going to have to live like this for another week.

I find it hard to believe that the condo association didn't know until Monday that my building was getting painted. If I'd know a few weeks earlier I would have been able to plan better.

Gah. It's just so frustrating.
