cutting question

I have read where some varieties have differing preferences for rooting, i.e. water vs a solid medium.

I've gotten a number of nice cuttings this fall with each variety in its own glass of water. Most are coming along nicely with swelling lenticles and even beginning to send out roots. Those I can manage the rest of the way on my own.

I have 3 which are pretty much just 'sitting there' in their glass. They are American Pride, Golden Aurea, and Insignis Peach. I do have a couple of cuttings of each so could easily put one in a solid medium using rooting hormone but usually would wait until they at least have nubs.

I'll appreciate anyone sharing their experience w these or thoughts in general.

As an aside, I spent the early part of the morning going through the containers of cuttings I made of my own and extracted any which seem to be questionable and changed the water. If anyone wants to take a look at my list for cuttings you'de like please check out my trade list. I haven't updated it and won't have cuttings of some but feel free to drop me an email for any on the list you have an interest in and I'll check. I'm gettin tired of changing the water every other day and will probably compost whats left in another week or so.
