Great shots BorS. There is an iris farm in a nearby city and I love to visit on warm summer days since the fragrance is quite noticeable and pleasant.

This display garden surrounds the owners houses and farm buildings. Then there are acres and acres of fields of iris that they are growing commercially.

Wow Buyorsell, that was wonderful! And the other slide show as well. Clematis, daylilies and Irises - those are the 3 plants that just set off HUGE cravings in me!

I bought a bunch of hostas this year after going to Gail Austins.....

I bought iris last year after going to Schreiner's the first time. Bought Clemmies like crazy from Gail Austin before she stopped selling last year too. She was selling 1 gallons for 11 bucks! I think I bought 20 from her over the summer.

What a beautiful place! Wouldn't do for me to go there because I would come home with more Iris than I have ground available. I love Iris and have many, mostly Louisiana Iris with a mix of bearded thrown in. Your photo's are wonderful. Really. Whoever designed that garden has a good eye for placing companion plantings with the Iris and bed design.

BorS, just wondering if you have tried any of the reblooming Iris? Do they actually rebloom? If so, how often?

Yes, I have tried reblooming iris. I just planted them last summer though so can't really comment but one of them did bloom after I planted them.

Reblooming iris bloom once in the spring and again in the fall. They don't bloom over and over all summer. (sadly)

Autumn Tryst is the one that bloomed right after I planted last fall.

I think local climate has a lot to do with it, they don't guarantee rebloom every year or for everyone.

All of the iris I bought were on the reblooming list.
