ROOTS!!! Yay!!!

Okay I'm sorry, but I just had to tell someone about my cuttings and how they are doing. I received them on the 19th of Oct. and put them straight into jars of water. The next morning one of them had to be discarded because it was mushy along the entire stem.....it was a nice fat cutting with white nubs already, so not sure what was wrong. Anyway, I immediately potted up the other two of the same type (peach candida) into small containers. From then on I potted up the cuttings as the nubs got large, so most of them, except two that are being stubborn about developing good sized nubs, are in containers--16-20 oz. clear cups, depending on the size of the cuttings. This morning as I was checking them out, some of them have a lot of roots showing between the soil and the side of the cup, and one even has a root coming out of one of the drainage holes!! I am amazed at them. Now not all of them are showing roots, but some of the ones that aren't, have tiny leaves forming at the nodes where the old leaves where. I am so happy that they are coming along......I never expected that they would do so well so fast.

Thanks for reading and letting me tell you about stuff that is probaably old hat to most of you! :)

Lois
