I am trying to find a clematis rectus purpurea to give as a gift. I've checked all the sites I could find on-line and had no luck. I've thought of dividing mine (it's very tall and full) but am incredibly worried that I'll be doing it some permanent damage, such as killing it. Any advice??? Where to purchase, to divide or not divide?? If divide, wait til fall I guess. Also, mine is not in the exact right spot. Would I kill it if I try to move it in the fall? Or do live with it being not exactly right? I think I'm obsessing! (Did I misspell that?)Sorry.
