Don't have it Karen but it is one that is not commonly talked about on any forums I have ever frequented. Where have you seen it sold from and where are the pictures that you refer to as far as showing red stems? COTW has nothing about that in their description.

Nckvilledudes, it's available from Silver Star. Debbie says it can be treated as a type 3. She says it's a good bloomer with pretty blooms and foliage. Will try to find the picture where the stems look red. Apparently this is an older variety that was lost and is now available again. Did you see the story about it on COTW?

Rosethyme, I did see that article on COTW thru the link on the listing. That is where I went to look up the info on The Bride. I also see that Silver Star doesn't say anything about the red colored stems. Hmm wonder if that picture you saw was a fluke or perhaps the stem color was an artifact of the picture taking process?

On HMF...of course it could be you're right and it's just a trick of the camera. Anyway, I ordered it since Debbie says it is a nice one.

Good luck with it Rosethyme. The picture shows the stems to be a brownish color to me. Perhaps Debbie could answer the question from her experience with the plant.

hi karen...i received The Bride 2 weeks ago from debbie at silver star. i don't think it has any red any where. my picture is white with yellow stamens. funny tho', i paired it with westerplatte. i also got john huxtable and barbra harrington. i was soooooo!!! pleased with my order. the root ball was amazing and they have grown 2&1/2 feet!!! yes feet!! i can't hardly wait for those blooms!

Lol, maybe it's just my eyes seeing red where it should be brown. Debbie did say it has pretty foliage so that's good enough for me.

Hi Kim, nice to meet a fellow Texan. Glad to hear yours are doing so well.Maybe we can compare notes on The Bride when I get mine. Yes, all the Clematis I've gotten from Debbie are amazing. My Blue Angel that is new from her is covered with blooms from top to bottom.

funny how a city,or town as the case would of been,could be named after a round rock in a stream!!!! i hear dell is in another machete mode again.
