I purchased a small clementis plant this spring from my local Lowes store. Planted it in the ground and was doing will, climbing and everything. When I returned from vaca, my maintanance guy had weed wacked it below the greenery. Will it come back?

Just give it some rose fertilize and water..it should come back...Jeanne

Yes, as Jeanne said, it should. Sadly, I've had that happen a couple of times and the clematis came back up looking better than before!

Will certainly return if it was kept watered in your absence. Whacking it back will probably stimulate more shoots coming out of the ground from the crown.

Yes, whacking is actually a good thing as far as clematis are concerned.
