Mine is blooming funky too. I do know that mine was heavily chewed on by earwigs and weevils earlier. Perhaps that is why they are distorted.

Mine is blooming for the 2nd time. Only one bloom last year, its first year. this year it is up to touching the eaves on the house. Very heavy bloom the first time, only the flowers are small. About 3 weeks ago it started making new growth from the bottom and has climbed to the eaves again, lots of bloom this time but flowers are still small. I did not cut it back after the first bloom, as it is VERY HOT here, and I didn't want to shock it. Crazy goings on.

Mine always has green tips on the sepals when it first starts blooming, but the later flowers seem fine.
