Here's the latest on my cutting back experiment. As you all may recall, last Spring there was discussion about getting Type IIs to rebloom. I had not had any rebloom on 3 established clems. Following their bloom, I cut them back & fertilized (for the 1st time). So far, the 1st to be cut back, 'Cezanne,' has 1 shoot with a bud. (I'd call that a qualified success.) 'Silver Moon' has put out no new growth. Failure so far. 'Henryi' was the latest to be cut back. It has some new growth, but no buds so far.

'Cezanne' was cut back to about 6"high. 'Silver Moon' I did not cut back as much. I left it about 24" inches high, but that was cutting back by half. 'Henryi' was cut to 3-4', which is at least half, possibly more. More results to follow.
