I have a brick wall that I have started growing 'Rhapsody' up. The brick is a chimney with an eastern exposure. The ground begins sloping down sharply to the north starting at the south corner of the chimney. I'm afraid that 'Rhapsody' will not grow high enough, as it is planted at the bottom of the slope. I decided that I needed a tall Clematis to plant at the top of the slope, on the south side of the chimney. I like both 'Betty Corning' & 'Emilia Plater.' Their similar color would be go well with the blue purple of 'Rhapsody.' Because they are so similar, I'm having trouble choosing between them. Is 1 longer-blooming than the other or more profuse blooming? If all things are equal, I think I will get 'Betty Corning,' as its flowers are fragrant & more of a contrast in shape to 'Rhapsody.'
