Lois...VV is one of my favssss..so much so that I have two of them..I don't blame you..I always allow mine to set some buds and bloom and then I pinch them back after the flowers are gone..enjoy!!..Jeanne

Another of my favorite clematis as well. Of course if you love purple and throw backs to the 70s, I suggest you try Tie Dye! I love its quirky colored blooms.

Lois, my PS hasen't bloomed either, where did you get yours, mine came from Song Sparrow. It has had all of 1 bloom in 3 years.

Regarding Polish Spirit. I'm still waiting!!!! As I had mentioned in a previous post it is a 3 year Clematis and last summer I had a few blooms so I was really looking forward to what it would do this summer.The foliage is thick and green and other plants around it are re-blooming.
Just checked Venosa again and that little plant looks just so happy and proud of all her flowers. She is blooming away and just planted several months ago.

Funny. I have TWO Polish Spirits. One is 4 years old and has NEVER had a single bloom and so I got another one thinking it was an aberration and that one is 2 years old and has never bloomed.
Not a single blossom on either one...nearby roses bloom very well and a Sweet Autumn Clematis right next to one of them blooms very well...go figure.
I think I got both at WalMart. :-(

I don't remember where I got my Polish Spirit but I think it was a Garden center.

My Polish Spirit came from WalMart in the little rusty orange colored pots from Roseville. It was potted up into a one gallon pot and less than two months or so the roots were coming out of the bottom. Can't help with why it wouldn't bloom. Mine is a blooming machine that wants to take over the world.
