Wow, that is a gorgeous flower! I had to look it up since I have not heard of it before. I am a HUGE blue/purple fan as well. And like you, can't stand the red/mauve in them too.

To my understanding it is very difficult to capture the true colors of blue/purple with a camera. It might be the pics you are looking at may have not been captured accurately. Time of day is a huge factor as well as the type of camera. Have you been looking at the pics on COTW? Too bad we aren't another year or so down the road so I could give you better advice. I just recently planted a bunch of blue type 2's as a backdrop on my chain link fence for a back drop(as well as 2 other colors). I bought them all locally for cheap with the idea of putting more dramatic colors in the foreground(adding more dramatic blues/purples too!) With the few that I have seen bloom & hopefully true to identity, I can suggest Will Goodwin as being a very pale blue right out of the gate with awesome curly tepals. The flower seems to last longer than any of mine at this point. Elsa Spath starts out a real dark purple with a very mild mauve bar on only a few of the flowers which quickly disappears & turns into a beautiful pale blue. The contrast of old flowers & new is stunning. I've seen pics of Ramona that is just as spectacular. The one I purchased as Ramona I believe is General Sikorski. No red or mauve to that 1 either. Starts out dark purple & turns into a pale blue as well. I will have to get back to you on the others I haven't seen bloom yet.

If you want to talk about a clem that never, ever can get caught on camera accurately is Betty Corning. I have read a ton of reviews/raves on her & kept looking at the pic & thinking to myself "what's up?" She looks pink in the pics not blue like everyone was saying. I saw her in person this last June & WOW! Very pale blue that literally glows! She is type 3 though.

Trying searching this forum, that has helped me out quite of bit. You will find pics of a lot of blues in people's yards.

Well, if you really want light blue, I'd suggest Blue Angel (Blekitney Aniol) or I'd second Betty Corning. Both very light blue, both long bloomers for me. Both easy. I have a new Prince Charles which I think is going to turn out to be a light blue also, but I can't speak to its other good qualities yet.
