I think that's Nelly. First blooms aren't always the best but I don't see any reason to think it's not Nelly. If you haven't checked here's Nelly at Clematis on the Web.

Even if it isn't, but I think it is, $5 for what must be at least 2 years old if they wanted almost $50 for it, is a great deal. It must have very good roots.

These clematis were previously on trellis in the pots and were cut down and sold at the end of season. I haven't had much luck growing clematis from bare root, so I was waiting for this moment! I have two others that I am waiting to bloom to identify. One is dark pink, but with less petals and the other one has some buds. They have grown quite a bit since I brought them home.

Do you think I should plant them in the fall or wait until spring?
