Shelley...I got my markers from one of the Co-ops at Dave's ..there is always someone having a Co-op for them or you can go to the website and order..I always put the name and pruning group on my marker so I'll have the info when out there pruning....Jeanne

Another option I have used is to purchase nursery labels and a professional marking pen. I have both that I ordered from Park Seed Company and they have been very useful. The tags I have made using the professional type nursery marking pen have not faded after several years of southern sun!

I keep a Word document with a written list plus descriptions of where they are planted. I also have always kept the tags. I have them in an alphabetical accordion file by Latin name.

You should also know that pruning them all hard every year won't hurt them. Wrong pruning will never kill them, just might delay blooms.

Thanks everyone for your ideas. Jeanne, I will check out that link. I like the idea about keeping track of all the plants you have on a list. I keep track of my roses that way, including where I purchased them and when i planted them. I just ordered a whole bunch more clematis last night from Koi Gardens, an ebay company that I heard (on one of the rose forums) was having a sale. I did pretty well, i think. Their clematis are 50% off. I'll give the link in case anyone is interested.
