shipping clems from z 5 to z9??

i need to know if they will do okay...mine in zone 5 are going dormant, nights have been in the 30's..leaves have turned color for fall..i want to ship them to texas...zone 9...she says it's a good time to plant there...but what about the sudden transition from 30's to 80's??? anyone out there have experience with this?? thanks, donna

I don't think it will be a problem, however, I think that VERY early spring is best. I would wait until just before dormancy breaks, say mid- to -late winter. This is when the plants are FULL of energy - ready to burst, also ready to ship.
