I'm planning ahead to next spring, and I cannot wait to get into the dirt again. =)

I'm looking for a red flowering (not too pinkish), tall clem perferably a pruning group 2. My zone is technically 4, but in this particular area of the garden, I've grown zone 6 plants with no problems. The biggest problem here is that the clem will only get about 5-6 hours of morning sun in the summer. Then it's shaded by the porch roof. Also, I'm new to clems, so it needs to be an easy guy. I'm not too scared of wilt. It happened last year to a regular ole Jackmanii, and that's OK.

I was looking at Jackmanii Rubra, but didn't see any info here on GW. Ernest Markham (sp?) seems a little short for my needs. Does anyone have any experience w/J Rubra? Any other suggestions for my happy little garden?
