Any clematis that suits your fancy in the Pruning group 3's...maybe a white like 'Huldine','John Huxtable' something really bright hot pink like 'Pink Champagne'...Jeanne

My Venosa Violacea is only two years old but had a few blooms nearly all summer. The color is breathtaking, but unusual. Mine is growing next to and through the rose Ballerina. I will be curious if anyone else has another clematis growing nearby.

Mine is planted with Prince Charles and Rouge Cardinal but this planting is new and they haven't bloomed yet together. VV is in the middle on the tallest (8') part of the trellis and the other two are on either side.

I did have a couple blooms on each one when I bought them and did hold them together and thought they looked nice.

I think VV would be great with a white or lavender rose for a more subtle combination or a hot pink one for a bright combination.
