Most clematis bloom 4-6 weeks. Some will give you a repeat bloom. Bloom time is so variable by variety and climate zone and growing conditions. I did have 2 clematis that bloomed 4-6 months last summer for me. Polish spirit and John Paul II. You can select different clematis with different bloom times to give you flowers over the whole season. I always have clematis blooming from March until frost in my yard just by selecting different varieties with different bloom times. I have never grown Franziska Marie so I don't know how well it blooms. Maybe someone else on this site does though.

Wayside Gardens is notorious for Photoshopping their photos and writing exaggerated descriptions.

Harlow Carr, Gravetye Beauty and Durandii blooms all season for me. Vesuvius was new for me this year, but it also was a long bloomer.

Most of them bloom for 4-6 weeks with the heaviest bloom in June-July and sporadic bloom for the rest of the season. All of these tend to have a few blooms up until September. Another clematis you should consider growing is Sweet Autumn Clematis. I have a HUGE one that grows to 10 feet in one season. I'll post a pic later.

It doesn't get thick and have masses of blooms like our others. (I like that... it doesn't shade the roses) I paid extra attention to it last season because it had seemed to always have a few blooms on it the previous couple years. That just wasn't possible. I figured I was getting oldtimer's syndrome :) The critter had at least a half dozen blooms and sometimes as many as 3 dozen. Nothing to write home about and didn't make for impressive photos but I like it.
