If you could post a pic I could tell you if it is Pteris dentata. Dentata means toothed and it is toothed or serrated along sides of pinnules. I have a feeling it is native to nz but not 100% sure on that.

Looks just like my Pteris dentata. I checked my books quickly and didn't find a species named stramina or straminea. Fern names get reassigned often enough that it may be an old name or a newer name than my books show, but P. dentata has been in the nursery trade for a long time and that is most likely what you have.

Here in coastal central California it's a great fern because of its tolerance of somewhat dry soil and some sun. It self-sows in my garden near the Pacific ocean, and takes a little hot afternoon sun.

Now there is no doubt that it is Pteris dentata.
'Stramina' might be a cultivar of Pteris dentata sold by many european nurseries.
