What the heck is a flowering fern? Ferns don't flower....what is the botanical name?

I would say with any bulbs they belong below the ground but without knowing what it is, it would be hard to say for sure.

moss, I'm 'guessing' (but not positive) that kersh is talking about a plant that goes by the common name 'flowering fern;, Incarvillea delavayi, actually a member of the Bignoniaceae family (along with trumpet creepers, etc.)

If that is the plant, then that common name has made kersh confused...it is not a fern at all.

I answered your question on the woodland forum where you also posted with a link. Used to be called hardy gloxinia, I guess they changed the name for marketing purposes. You can google it for several videos and instructions to plant it, take your pick.
